Move-In FAQs

Are you about to become a new Wheelwright resident?  Here is some information to help with closing and moving:

Do you have any move in fees? (refundable or non-refundable)

There are no fees associated with Wheelwright Cluster Association (WCA) to move in or out of the cluster.

Are there any utilities included as a part of HOA?

Services covered by payment of homeowner’s dues:

  • Trash and recycling pickup (Mon for trash and recycling, Thurs trash only)
  • Lawn maintenance of all common areas and grass of private property of front yards only.  Yards which have been landscaped to be “grass free” require separate maintained by homeowners.
  • Snow plowing of Wheelwright Court driving areas.  (Parking spaces and sidewalks should be expected to be shoveled by hand and are the responsibility of each resident)
  • Electric lights on common cluster property

Services which are billed to individual property owners separately:

  • Water/Sewer (Fairfax Co Water)
  • Media (Cable TV and Internet (Comcast or Verizon)/Satellite (Dish))
  • Electric (Dominion VA)

Are there any amenities that are a part of the HOA?

Wheelwright Cluster is part of Reston Association and has access to all pools/lakes/trails/community centers, tennis, etc. that RA offers.  Please contact RA directly for access.

WCA also has a tot lot for the use of residents only.

Are there any special move in procedures?

Residents are asked not to block parking spaces of other residents while moving. If this cannot be avoided, contact owners of vehicles which may be blocked before loading/unloading begins or be prepared to allow these residents access to their vehicles immediately upon request.

Use of portable storage units are allowed, but residents should contact board (wheelwright.website) and pre-arrange appropriate parking and time in which unit will be present.  Moving trucks may not be parked overnight on cluster property, unless they fit completely within a single parking space.

Do you require a lease addendum?

No.

Do you require a lease registration?

Homeowners are highly encouraged to notify WCA Board of any home that is leased including the number of residents and vehicles associated with the property, so that the Board may keep an eye on the property.  Renters are encouraged to become part of the community of Wheelwright Cluster and expected to follow all WCA rules while residents of Wheelwright Cluster.

Do you have any pet policies or require pet registration?

Fairfax County regulations are in effect at Wheelwright Cluster.  Please see (http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/code/animals/) for details.

 How does parking work?

Parking at Wheelwright Cluster is limited to personal vehicles of residents and guests of residents while visiting only.  Vehicles should be registered with the Board.  Reserved parking is limited to one space per house.  The Board requests that homes with more than 2 vehicles, park additional vehicles along Olde Crafts Drive.  Any vehicle not associated with the cluster, parked in a no parking zone or another party’s reserved space, or associated with a property who is more than 2 quarters behind on WCA dues is subject to towing at owner’s expense.

I have a problem/concern.  Who do I contact?

WCA maintains a website (wheelwright.website) and facebook page.  The Board will use these tools to communicate events and update the community of fast changing situations.  Please check these resources first, then contact the board at wheelwright.cluster.assoc@gmail.com.
